My wife Abby and I live in a tiny house in northern Canada with our three boys. We spent 320 days outside as a family last year — hiking, hunting, shed hunting in the spring with the youngest two on our backs in packs, living out of the truck for three weeks in Utah. I work as a farrier under horses that don't always want their feet held, and I guide moose hunts in the backcountry where the day demands more than most men have to give.
I'm not theorizing about any of this. I'm living it. Right now.

I'm 30. I'm a farrier — I trim and shoe horses for a living. I've spent the last eight years under animals that don't always want their feet held. Before that, I trained horses. In the fall, I guide backcountry moose hunts where the days are long and the weight on your back gets heavier with every kilometer.
I've blown two discs in my back doing this work. Came back stronger because I learned to train the engine, not the bodywork. I've out-worked guys twice my size on elk hunts — not because I'm built different, but because I figured out the version of training that actually holds up when the day demands something from you.

I built AdventureFit because I kept watching men and women — smart, capable, dialed-in people — do everything right on paper and still feel stuck. The fitness industry was selling them the wrong work. The wellness industry was selling them the wrong identity. Nobody was just handing them the field manual.
So I went and got certified in fitness, nutrition, hormones, and gut health. Not for the letters after my name — for the actual work. To understand why effort alone wasn't enough.

What is AdventureFit, really?
It's a coaching practice and a small library of field manuals — built for men and women who want to stay strong, capable, and present for the next decade of their lives. Not a gym. Not a wellness brand. Not a transformation program. The work my wife Abby and I do here helps real people get strong for real life.
What makes this different from other fitness coaching?
Most coaches sell surface tactics — strict macros, punishing workouts, trendy fads. I work from the inside out: the right kind of intensity (not chaos), hormones and metabolism on your side instead of fighting them, habit systems that produce real identity change, and strength that serves the life you actually live. The work fits your week — not the other way around.
I'm not super "fit" right now. Will I feel out of place?
No. Most people I work with are everyday men and women — moms, dads, busy professionals, farmers, faith-driven families. Many come in feeling stuck, tired, or like they've tried everything. You don't need to be in shape to start. You just need to be ready for a different approach.
Who do you work with?

Straightforward. Encouraging. Rooted in truth. I'm not a drill sergeant. I'm not a passive cheerleader. I'm a guide. I'll give you clear direction, simple systems, and the mindset shifts that make the rest stick. I'll call you up — not call you out.
What are your core principles around fitness and health?
Consistency over intensity. Hormones and metabolism on your side. Identity-based habit change. Gut health and recovery as foundations. Strength that serves real life. Faith, family, and stewardship over perfection. Simple, strategic, sustainable — because that's what actually works long-term.
Do you work with couples or families?
Yes. Abby and I live this lifestyle together — meals, training, raising kids, hunting, hauling firewood, growing in our faith. Many of my coaching clients are couples or families who want the same. I love helping men and women work together to build a strong, healthy household.
I've tried a lot of things that didn't work. Why would this be different?
Because I don't just hand you a plan. I coach you into a new way of operating. I address the root causes of why things haven't worked: all-or-nothing thinking, overwhelm, unrealistic plans, metabolic damage, hormonal stress, lack of identity change. Step by step, through a process that's strategic, sustainable, and aligned with your actual values.
Do I need to be super motivated to start?
No. You need a system that works even when motivation fades. I help you build structure, routine, and accountability so you don't rely on willpower. The work is designed for busy people, real life, and messy seasons. You bring the willingness. I bring the plan.
